These terms set out what you can do with the writing and photographs published on WSF Media, what contributors keep, and where the limits sit. They cover reading, sharing, commenting and sending in a pitch. Nothing here creates an account, a subscription or a paid service.
You are welcome to read anything on the site and to link to it from your own pages, newsletters or group chats. Quoting a paragraph or two with a clear credit and a link back to the original post is fine. Copying a full piece, or republishing it as your own, is not. If you want to reproduce a whole article or a photo essay, write to us first and we will tell you plainly whether it is possible.
Contributors hold the rights to their own text and photographs. By sending a piece in, a writer gives WSF Media permission to edit it for plain English and to publish it on the site, including in the archive. That permission does not hand over ownership. A contributor can ask us to take a piece down, and we will look at the request honestly rather than pretend the question is complicated.
Comment threads stay moderated. Comments that are abusive, off-topic or mainly promotional may be removed without notice. We do not run a live reply system, so a comment is not a message to an editor and should not be treated as one. If you need a direct answer, use the contact page instead of the thread.
A pitch sent through the contact form is a suggestion, not a commission. It does not create a contract, a fee or a guaranteed publication. We read what arrives, but we cannot promise a reply time or a decision date. If a piece is accepted, the editing terms above apply to it.
When something published here turns out to be wrong, we correct it in the post itself rather than quietly deleting the line. The blog is written by a small group of contributors and is not a news desk, so treat the pieces as observation and personal account, not as professional advice. We are not liable for decisions a reader makes after reading a post.
These terms may be updated as the site changes. The current version is the one published on this page, and it replaces earlier wording. If a change is significant, we will note it in the post or in the page itself rather than leave readers to spot it on their own.
